ABOUT KIRSTEN
Kirsten Schmidtke is a powerhouse leadership and sales coach with a story rooted in resilience, innovation, and transformation.
Kirsten has always been hard-wired for success, and consistently embraced a spirit of entrepreneurship — whether it was starting a thriving swimming lesson business in her parents backyard as a teen, or running a successful dance studio in her 20s.
Growing up in London, Ontario, Kirsten’s early passion for the arts led her to dance, where she thrived and eventually joined The Young Americans, a music and arts outreach group. Traveling across the U.S. and internationally to perform, Kirsten experienced early on what it meant to be part of something bigger than herself.
When she left the dance world as a performer, Kirsten decided to open up her own dance studio where she simultaneously ran the business, taught classes, as well as coached the dance team. She did all of this while returning to school and deciding to pursue not one, but two majors — biochemistry and business administration. Her natural aptitude for subjects like physics and chemistry could have easily led her into engineering, but she wasn’t quite sure where she belonged. This pursuit of knowledge wasn’t just about career ambitions — it was about proving to herself that she was smart enough, capable enough, and deserving of success.
After completing her degrees, Kirsten faced a new set of challenges. Unsure of her next steps, she landed a job in technology sales through a family referral in Toronto. Though the tech world wasn’t her original passion, Kirsten threw herself into the work, determined to succeed in a male-dominated industry. As she started to gain some traction in the industry, she longed for bigger accounts, greater responsibility, and mentorship. But every time she tried to push forward, she was met with resistance.
In 2020, after building credibility and working tirelessly to prove her worth, Kirsten found herself at a crossroads. The prestigious Enterprise Account Manager role — one that represented her ‘you’ve made it’ moment — slipped through her fingers. Her goals started to feel out of reach, and the support she needed within the organization was nonexistent. Feeling stuck and unsure of her next move, she hit a low point in early 2021, spending a week in bed, exhausted and deflated.
But instead of giving up, Kirsten made a decision that changed everything: She hired a coach. Recognizing that she wasn’t going to get the development she needed from within her company, she took matters into her own hands. That experience opened her eyes to the power of external support and mentorship, and it was through this process that she began to see the path to her future: Becoming a certified coach herself.
By 2023, Kirsten was ready to leave the corporate world behind. She took the lessons she had learned across all of her endeavors, and channeled them into helping others achieve their idea of success. Today, Kirsten empowers leaders and entrepreneurs to step outside their comfort zones, offering them the same kind of support that changed her life.
Kirsten’s coaching is about more than just accountability. It’s about being the unwavering force that helps clients break through their glass ceilings, achieve financial and time freedom, and build wealth in all aspects of life — whether in business, health, or relationships. Her story, from ambitious dancer to sales professional to leadership coach, reflects her belief that true success comes from pushing past the moments of doubt and leaning into the vision of what’s possible.
