What If I Told You, You Could It Have It All?
My hope for you is to have it all.
I hear people share that they have a good life, a great life even, but they still aren’t happy. If only they could be happy, they would really have it all.
Is it possible though, that the very thing we want for ourselves, joy, is the most difficult thing for us to accept? Are you, in other words, afraid of being happy?
I’m reminded of a clip of a Brené Brown interview where she states that the most difficult emotion to experience is joy. When we feel joyful, we immediately hit the pause button worried for the worst - we wait for it to be taken away faster than it was given to us. Or as she says, we wait for the other shoe to drop. Rather than expanding into joy, allowing joy to fill us up and runneth over, we put a lid on it in fear of it being too good to be true.
But what if things could be working out for you all the time?
It is true that we experience highs and lows throughout life’s seasons, but when the going gets tough, could it be that you’re on the edge of something new? About to expand in an area of your life? That there is something amazing just around the corner…?
When we peel back the layers and get underneath what is keeping us from experiencing joy, it can get uncomfortable. But let me tell you this:
It’s in the feelings that transformation begins.
In order to be open to joy and invite more happiness to your life, start with this affirmation:
Things are working out for me all the time.
And then reflect:
What is good right now?
What is working for me right now?
Stay there, be there.
Because then you’re ready to run, it’s only a matter of mindset to burst through to the other side. I can feel it right now; the path ahead is flooded with light, possibility, and opportunity. Is it too good to be true? No. It is a result of leaning into the good, leaning into the unfamiliar, and leaning into joy. Don’t allow your upper limit to keep you from expanding into what’s next. This is momentum. This is your moment.
Instead of expecting the worst, try looking forward to it all working out. Your life is yours to create. As Kate Winslet said to a young journalist:
“It's gonna be the most amazing interview ever — and do you know why? Because we've decided that it is going to be."
My hope for you is to have it all.
Truly.
And it all starts with believing it is possible.
